Developing Fractions Sense C: Teacher Set 5th Grade

The program consists of 46 lessons and three enrichment lessons. Each lesson consists of an instructional sections followed by exercises. Concepts are introduced concretely before presenting arithmetic solutions. Various strategies are presented for adding fractions with different denominators. A major focus of the program is fraction multiplication. Students differentiate between the multiplier and the multiplicand and develop an intuitive notion of fraction multiplication.
